Detection of the depth order of defocused images
The sign of an accommodative response is provided by differences in chromatic aberration between under- and over-accommodated images. We asked whether these differences enable people to judge the depth order of two stimuli in the absence of other depth cues. Two vertical edges separated by an illuminated gap were presented at random relative distances. Exposure was brief, or prolonged with fixe...

Iterative Feedback Estimation of Depth and Radiance from Defocused Images
This paper presents a novel iterative feedback framework for simultaneous estimation of depth map and All-In-Focus (AIF) image, which benefits each other in each stage to obtain final convergence: For the recovery of AIF image, sparse prior of natural image is incorporated to ensure high quality defocus removal even under inaccurate depth estimation. In depth estimation step, we feed back the c...

The recovery of depth from defocused images involves calcurecovering the depth [2]. lating the depth of various points in a scene by modeling the The problem addressed in this paper is as follows— effect that the focal parameters of the camera have on images Given a scene with object points at unknown depths from acquired with a small depth of field. In the approach to depth the camera, obtain ...
Correlation postprocessing-based method for the detection of defocused images.
We present a method to detect patterns in defocused scenes by means of a joint transform correlator. We describe analytically the correlation plane, and we also introduce an original procedure to recognize the target by postprocessing the correlation plane. The performance of the methodology when the defocused images are corrupted by additive noise is also considered.
